Profile & Story

Domaine Paul Prieur et Fils has made Sancerre in the village of Verdigny for eleven generations, currently run by Luc Prieur since 2012. Roughly 14.5 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc at the top of Verdigny at the foot of the Monts Damnés slope, split across three soil types (40% caillottes, 20% terres blanches, 40% silex), farmed organically (certified since 2022), hand-harvested. No sulfites added before fermentation; fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, aged 8-14 months, unfiltered.

Tasting Notes

Fresh nose of mineral and floral character; well-balanced, pure, and fine palate, delicate roasted tone, hint of spice, vibrant grapefruit, pineapple, and lemon flavors with crisp acidity. Approachable young, 5-8 year drinking window.
