Profile & Story

Sandeman's Fine Rich Madeira is made in the traditional manner on the Atlantic island of Madeira, where rich volcanic subsoil gives the wine its character. A small amount of distilled cane-sugar alcohol is added to stabilize the wine, matured using the estufagem (heating) process characteristic of Madeira production. Classified Medium Sweet, 19% ABV, total sugars 108.5 g/L.

Tasting Notes

Dark amber wine with golden highlights. Rich aromas of dried fruits with pleasantly light complexity; rich, smooth palate with light acidity and a good finish.

Pairs well with rich dishes and desserts such as chocolate; also an essential ingredient in classic cuisine.
