Profile & Story
Taylor's is one of the most highly respected producers of aged Tawny Port. The 20 Year Old is blended from extensive reserves of old, cask-aged Ports matured in seasoned oak casks of about 630 litres in the firm's Oporto lodges, where it gradually takes on its characteristic amber tawny colour and complex mellow flavours.
Tasting Notes
Intense amber tawny colour, medium brown amber core, fine orange rim. Opulent voluptuous nose of complex spicy, jammy and nutty aromas, hints of orange flower and fine oakiness, layers of toffee, demerara sugar, dates, caramel and mace, lemon zest and toasted almonds. Full, very rich, concentrated palate with a long mellow finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent with desserts featuring figs, almonds and caramel — a fine complement to crème brûlée or wild strawberries.
