Profile & Story

Tassi Montalcino is a small, family-run winery rooted in Montalcino, founded in the late 1990s by Fabio Tassi and his father Giuseppe, building on a long-standing agricultural tradition dating back to the 1960s. The estate farms 7 hectares across different areas of the appellation, working exclusively with Sangiovese and practicing organic viticulture. Each vineyard is vinified separately to highlight the individuality of terroir and vintage. Tassi’s philosophy balances respect for tradition with a spirit of experimentation, including an amphora-aged Sangiovese project launched in 2018. The wines are authentic, elegant expressions of Montalcino and its land.

Tasting Notes

Expressive and deep on the nose, with aromas of sour cherry, cherry and raspberry, accompanied by saline and mineral notes, Mediterranean herbs, lavender, sandalwood and sweet spices, with hints of mocha and bitter citrus. On the palate it is elegant and dynamic, medium-bodied, supported by a bright acidity and an extremely fine, well-integrated tannic structure. The finish is juicy, precise and persistent, with citrus-driven notes and a structure that promises harmonious evolution over time.
