About the Wine
Mahâris 2021 is a 100% Syrah red wine from the Sicilia DOC, produced by Feudo Maccari in the Noto area of southeastern Sicily. The grapes are sourced from bush-trained vines planted on chalky soils. Fermentation and maceration occur around 18 days in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging for 12–14 months in French oak barrels and an additional 6 months in bottle. The wine has an alcohol content of 14%.
Tasting Notes
Mahâris 2021 exhibits a ruby red color. The nose is complex and enveloping, offering aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, cocoa, coffee, and balsamic notes. On the palate, it is powerful and well-structured, featuring lush, concentrated fruit flavors balanced by fine acidity and ripe, sweet tannins, culminating in a long, persistent finish.
