Profile & Story
Champagne Henriet-Bazin is a fourth-generation grower-producer house based in Villers-Marmery, with vineyards also in Verzenay and Verzy in the heart of the Montagne de Reims (premier and grand cru terroir). This Blanc de Noirs is 100% Pinot Meunier from a single named plot, 'La Sente au Beurre' ('The Butter Path'), on the south-facing slopes of the Ardre Valley, planted on a rare limestone-bench subsoil for the variety. Grapes are 100% hand-harvested; the base wine ferments for about nine months in enamel-lined vats before spending a minimum of three years aging sur lie in the house's cellars, disgorged with roughly 8 g/L dosage.
Tasting Notes
The limestone terroir lends the Meunier unusual delicacy and elegance for the variety; the wine is creamy and seductive, reinterpreting Meunier's usual fruit-forward register with more finesse.
