Arndorfer Vereinter Schatz Red 2024

Weingut Martin & Anna Arndorfer farms certified-organic vineyards in Strass im Strassertal, Kamptal. Vereinter Schatz ('united sweeties') is a co-fermented red field blend of roughly 80% Zweigelt and 20% Pinot Noir -- the name is a play on words the Arndorfers use since current wine law does not permit them to call it a Gemischter Satz. Grapes are co-fermented in large wooden fermenters (70% whole cluster, 10% whole berry, 20% crushed), then aged six months on full lees in wooden fermenter and some neutral French barriques. The wine is unfined, unfiltered, with only about 10mg/L of SO2 added just before bottling.
