Domaine Brun-Avril was founded in 2008 by Jean-Jacques and Nathalie Brun, whose family has farmed in Chateauneuf-du-Pape for fifteen generations; their son Henri joined the domaine in 2020. The estate now spans about 18 hectares, farmed organically (certification in progress). This Cotes du Rhone Rouge comes from two parcels in Farguerol, just north of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, blending roughly 60% Grenache (vines averaging 35 years) and 40% Syrah (vines averaging 50 years) on clay-limestone soil exposed to the Mistral. Fermentation runs about six weeks in concrete and steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, followed by twelve months aging in 600-liter demi-muids, with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs.
