Profile & Story

Domaine Saint Roch is the Bardon family estate in Meusnes, in the Loir-et-Cher on the edge of the Cher River, now run by Denis Bardon; the family's winemaking roots go back to the 19th century. Its nearly 40 hectares of vines grow mainly on clay and flint soils with some limestone, the same flint that once supplied a bustling gunflint trade, and are farmed sustainably. The estate is named after Saint Roch, patron saint of the Meusnes church and of stonemakers. This Sauvignon Blanc is made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grown on the estate's flinty soils.

Fresh seafood such as poached prawns with lemon aioli or halibut crudo with citrus and basil, and crisp vegetable dishes like asparagus with tarragon vinaigrette or a spring salad of shaved fennel, radish, and green apple.
