Tatomer Wines was founded by Graham Tatomer, who trained in Austria's Wachau before returning to California to focus on Riesling and Gruner Veltliner -- varieties suited to Santa Barbara County's cool, marine-influenced sites. 'Meeresboden' ('ocean soil' in German) reflects those marine-influenced soils; the 2023 is a blend from the John Sebastiano and Kick-On vineyards, fermented with native yeast in 85% stainless steel and 15% large-format acacia foudre, with malolactic fermentation blocked to preserve acidity.
