Forlorn Hope's "Queen of the Sierra" wines are grown on the Rorick Heritage estate vineyard in Calaveras County, Sierra Foothills, at about 2,000 feet on schist over dolomite-rich limestone. The red is a Barbera-led field blend ("Barbera & Friends"), farmed and made with spontaneous native-yeast fermentation.
