Profile & Story

Gonet-Medeville is a grower-Champagne estate in Bisseuil (Vallee de la Marne) run by husband-and-wife team Xavier Gonet and Julie Medeville, uniting Xavier's family vineyards (Mesnil-sur-Oger, Ambonnay) with Julie's Sauternes heritage (Chateau Gilette). The house farms organically and avoids chaptalization, malolactic fermentation, and fining, with minimal dosage. The Blanc de Noirs 1er Cru is 100% Pinot Noir, sourced primarily from Bisseuil with a smaller portion from Grand Cru sites. Note: the venue's Brooklyn market is outside Martine's Wines' importing territory for this producer, so the exact current NY importer could not be confirmed; the producer link above is the brand's official US importer profile.

Tasting Notes

Crisp golden orchard fruit, honeycomb, warm biscuit and dried white flowers on the nose; full-bodied and vinous on the palate, with ripe, racy acidity, good depth and a delicate mousse.

Pairing Recommendation

Pairs well with roasted white meats, aged cheeses, or raw-bar seafood.
