Golden Cluster is an Oregon producer that spent a decade working with a historic block of own-rooted Semillon planted by Charles Coury at David Hill Vineyard in the Willamette Valley -- vines that predate most of the region's modern plantings. This 'Final Proof' bottling was the culmination of that decade-long project, made to demonstrate that Semillon could produce serious, age-worthy white wine in the Willamette Valley. It was also the winery's last vintage working this fruit: David Hill Vineyard was sold in 2022, and the new ownership did not renew Golden Cluster's grower contract. The wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes
Made from own-rooted, decades-old Semillon vines, the wine shows the variety's characteristic waxy texture with orchard-fruit and honeyed notes, framed by the bright acidity of cool Willamette Valley fruit.
