Jolie-Laide is the Sonoma County project of Scott and Jenny Schultz, who source fruit from a network of growers stretching from California's Central Coast up through Sonoma and into Mendocino County to make small-lot, minimal-intervention wines from unconventional varieties. Their Trousseau bottling is led by Trousseau Noir and rounded out with Cabernet Pfeffer, Valdiguie, Gamay and Poulsard in proportions that shift from vintage to vintage. The grapes are fermented whole-cluster and foot-crushed with native yeast, then aged in neutral oak.
