Gaba do Xil O Barreiro Godello 2024

Gaba do Xil is the Valdeorras label of Telmo Rodriguez's Ladeiras do Xil project. Since 2021 the white has been a true vineyard wine, made entirely from estate fruit selected exclusively from the O Barreiro vineyard at Larouco, acquired some years earlier and since restored: 16 hectares of it are planted to white varieties and a further 4 to reds. The wine is Godello with other local grapes, farmed traditionally under organic practice and harvested by hand into small boxes, on clay and slate soils. It is fermented with native yeasts and matured for several months on its lees, and is intended to show the Atlantic character of Valdeorras with its continental influence.
