The Gras family has shaped a vineyard at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail since 1874; over six generations the family, proprietors of Domaine Santa Duc, built close relationships with fellow winegrowers who shared their approach but no longer wished to bottle their own wines, and crafted the Famille Gras range from that fruit with the same rigorous standards. This cuvee blends old vines from several cool sites in the southern Cotes-du-Rhone - sand, marl, and red clay soils - planted to Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise, and Carignan, farmed organically. Grapes are hand-sorted and destemmed, fermented in stainless steel with pumping-over and punching-down for gentle extraction, then racked to stainless steel to age after malolactic fermentation.
