Blacksmith Cellars has been hand-crafting small-batch wines since 2001, with winemaker Matt Smith personally overseeing every step from tending the vines to bottling, sourcing grapes from small vineyards across California chosen for their meeting of terroir and careful farming. Their flagship C.L.R.T. bottling is a Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend (77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc) aged in French oak.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bouquet of chocolate-infused cherries with hints of pipe tobacco and cola, and concentrated flavors of crème de cassis, blueberry, vanilla, and cocoa on a long, caressing finish.
