Profile & Story
LIOCO, founded by Matt and Sara Licklider, has been at the forefront of the 'New California' wine movement for over 15 years, working with dry-farmed, organic, old-vine vineyards across the state to make minimalist, terroir-driven wines. Their Sonoma County Chardonnay draws on fruit from several vineyards in the cooler western part of the county and is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, with no barrel-fermented lots in the blend, evoking a Mâcon-Villages or Petit Chablis style.
Tasting Notes
The wine offers aromas of lemon blossom, orchard fruit, and crushed stone, with flavors of mineral, pomelo, and white tea; other vintages have shown lime peel, Bosc pear, baker's yeast, and a touch of lemongrass.
