Profile & Story
Villa Raiano is a family-owned winery established in 1996 in San Michele di Serino, in the Irpinia hills of Campania's Avellino province. Their Aglianico is sourced from hand-harvested fruit in the towns of Castelfranci, Venticano, and Bonito, fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures with daily remontage and about a week of skin contact; half the wine then ages six months in second- and third-passage French oak, the rest in steel.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with violet highlights, the wine shows explosive aromas of cocoa, tobacco, and fresh fruit, with mulberry, plum, and a subtle mint-balsamic note on the finish; the palate balances ripe, non-astringent tannins with fresh structure and solid sapidity.
