Poderi Boscarelli is a family estate in Cervognano, on the historic hillside just southeast of Montepulciano in Tuscany, founded in 1962 by Paola de Ferrari Corradi and today run with her sons Luca and Nicolò. The estate is best known for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, farmed on sandy, alluvial soils prized for producing elegant, well-drained wines. This Rosso di Montepulciano, labeled Prugnolo, is made mainly from Sangiovese (locally called Prugnolo Gentile) with a small portion of Mammolo, sourced from young vines for a fresher, more fragrant style.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby red, with a fresh, fruity and floral bouquet of iris, violet, plum and blueberry over a consistent palate rich in pure Sangiovese character; light-bodied with cherry, strawberry and herbal notes through a lightly chewy finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with pasta, risotto, light meat dishes, and cured cold cuts like prosciutto or salumi.
