Clos du Mont-Olivet is a historic estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape run by the Sabon family, whose vineyards sit on the appellation's classic mix of galets roulés and sandy-clay soils. The domaine practices organic farming and crafts its red Châteauneuf-du-Pape from a traditional blend led by old-vine Grenache, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault from vines over 60 years old, aged largely in old foudres.
Tasting Notes
A fleshy, driven and velvety Châteauneuf-du-Pape, showing crushed strawberry, forest berry, warm herbs and baking spice; full-bodied with fine tannins and generous fruit, finishing long with a distinctive bitter-orange lift.
