Profile & Story
The Grasso family has been farming vines in La Morra, in Italy's Barolo zone, since 1927, though it was not until 1980 that Federico Grasso began estate-bottling under the Silvio Grasso name. Today the fourteen-hectare estate, entirely within the prestigious La Morra commune, is known for a modern, approachable style of Barolo made from 100% Nebbiolo grown on calcareous clay soils.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with purple reflections, showing intense, typical aromas of red berries and black cherry; dry and soft on the palate, full-bodied yet quite fresh, with a fruity and pleasant finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with braised beef, wild game, or aged Piedmontese cheeses.
