100% Riesling; alcohol: 11.5%; estate vineyards on steep, multicolored slate slopes along the Mosel near Ürzig; some vines over 90 years old; hand harvested in late September; carefully sorted and gently pressed; fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for 3-4 weeks; aged 4 months on lees in tank, racked and filtered before bottling; stored in cellar until release.
Tasting Notes
Estate Old Vines Riesling combines the richness of the over 90 year old Wehlener Klosterberg vineyard with the extract of Kinheimer Hubertuslay and the complexity of Erdener Herrenberg sites. A very floral bouquet with mirabelle plum, gooseberry and hints of juicy apple and kiwi. Well balanced with minerality and clear fruit structure, it is modern with a full, rich palate.
