Chateau Coujan, in Saint-Chinian in the Languedoc, has been run by the Guy family since 1868 and farmed organically for over two decades; the estate sits on an ancient fossilized coral reef. 'La Pinot Noir' is a playful bottling of Pinot Noir -- unusual for the warm Languedoc -- hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented in concrete.
Tasting Notes
Light ruby red; red berry and subtle licorice aromas lead to a juicy, light-bodied palate of raspberry and blackberry with a smooth, easy finish. Best served lightly chilled.
