About the Wine
A wine with the alluring charm and Grenache forward qualities. Expect ripe strawberry and juicy cherry, with amusing notes of toasted marshmallow, ginger snap and juicy mandarin. An all-star cast of Rhone varieties to highlight all the best characteristics in your glass. Future Crossings 2022 comprises 41% Grenache, 32% Carignan, 17% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre in this new blend for Thibido. “This is the first of our wines with Grenache in the featured role. As a grape, Grenache is a coveted ingredient for me as a winemaker,” shares Josh Beckett. “Its juicy compatibility with almost any other grape characteristic is truly unique. In this wine, Grenache is the star and guides the wine’s flavor throughout the tasting experience. The vibrant red berry flavors are enhanced by the addition of Carignan while the Syrah adds depth and compliments Grenache’s rich complexity. Grenache and Mourvedre enhance the structure and the tannin of this wine.” Future Crossings 2022 is crafted from all organic fruit from two vineyards. Grenache, Carignan, and Mourvèdre from our Thibido Estate Vineyard certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers. The Syrah originates on our neighboring Homestead Hill Vineyard which is organically farmed. These pristine farming practices reflect our commitment to quality and sustainability so every sip is as pure as possible. The winemaking process follows a minimalist approach as well, allowing the natural flavors of the grapes to shine through. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French Oak barrels, the wine embodies the essence of its terroir while showcasing the complexity of the varietal blend. Each of these Rhone varieties are vinified separately prior to blending. In the final process, we strive to allow each varietal to showcase itself in the wine in a complex harmony of flavor.
