Gutierrez Colosia, established in 1838 on the banks of the Guadalete river in El Puerto de Santa Maria, is one of the last family-owned sherry bodegas and the only one located directly on the waterside quay. Sangre y Trabajadero is a historic Oloroso solera dating to 1800s Jerez, originally belonging to a cooper whose yard (trabajadero) stood on Calle Sangre; Gutierrez Colosia acquired the solera in 1982. Made from 100% Palomino, it ages a minimum of five years in oak, averaging around 12 years in solera.
Tasting Notes
Sweet aromas of glazed, toasted hazelnut and toffee meet briny, olive-like savory notes; the palate mirrors this interplay of nuttiness and salinity, finishing with a caramel, creme-brulee edge. Dry, full-bodied and richly nutty.
