Destilerias Acha, founded in 1831 and based in Amurrio in the Basque Country's Alava province, is the oldest continuously operating distillery in the Basque Country and one of the oldest family businesses in Spain, now run by its fifth generation. Atxa Blanco starts from a base of Hondarrabi Zuri and Viura wine, infused with over 30 botanicals -- including gentian, wormwood and citrus peel -- macerated in aguardiente produced on 130-year-old copper stills.
