Scarbolo is a boutique family winery founded in 1982 in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, now helmed by its third generation and focused on the region's Pinot Grigio heritage. Il Ramato ('the copper one' -- a play on ramato/amato, copper/beloved) is made from hand-harvested fruit exclusively from the estate's Codis vineyard, planted in 2004. Following a brief 12-hour cold skin maceration, the wine is softly pressed and fermented in stainless steel, then aged on its lees for five months with frequent batonnage.
