Wolffer Estate Vineyard was founded in 1988 by Hamburg-born Christian Wolffer in Sagaponack, on Long Island's South Fork, and has become a benchmark of Long Island winemaking. The estate's Bridgehampton loam soils and cooling Atlantic Ocean breezes -- just 2.6 miles from the vineyards -- create Bordeaux-like growing conditions that balance ripeness and acidity. The Estate Rose, predominantly Merlot, is the wine that built Wolffer's reputation for rose.
