Domaine Labbe was founded in 1975 by the fathers of cousins Alexandra and Jérôme Labbé, who now run the 10-hectare estate 15 kilometers south of Chambéry in the Alpine Savoie region. The Abymes is made from Jacquère, the most widely planted white grape in Savoie, fermented with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperature in non-reactive tanks and foudres. The Abymes appellation itself takes its name from the broken stones left by a mountain rockslide, giving the site its distinctive scree-covered terroir.
