Profile & Story
Quinta do Bomfim has been the historic home of Dow's Port since 1896, when the property was acquired by the Symington family; Andrew James Symington made it his family home in 1912, beginning five generations of stewardship on this stretch of the Douro near Pinhão. Vale do Bomfim extends this Douro heritage into everyday table wines. The Branco is a blend of 45% Malvasia Fina, 25% Rabigato, 20% Viosinho and 10% Arinto, grown in higher-altitude Douro vineyards where cooler nights allow even ripening of the white varieties.
Tasting Notes
Exuberant and fruity, with aromas of apricot, peach and pineapple and a subtle honeysuckle fragrance in the background. The palate is zesty and crisp, with lively freshness, saline minerality, and bright lemon and grapefruit notes reminiscent of a well-made Sauvignon Blanc.
