Profile & Story

Brooklyn Kura, New York City's first sake brewery (founded 2018 in Sunset Park's Industry City), makes 'Occidental' -- meaning 'of the West' -- from Calrose rice milled to 70%. At the end of fermentation the sake is gently dry-hopped with Citra hops, which oxidize and tint the sake a distinct pink hue while imparting an IPA-like aromatic character; ABV 14%.

Tasting Notes

A gorgeous nose of grapefruit zest and lightly honeyed fruit; bright, aromatic, dry and light-bodied with a citrusy, tropical-leaning finish reminiscent of a hoppy craft beer.
