Roberto Henriquez, a native of Concepcion, worked with winemakers in Canada, South Africa and the Loire Valley (with Rene Mosse) before returning home in 2015 to Bio Bio, Chile, at age 29 to rescue and showcase some of South America's oldest vines. He farms about 6 hectares around Nacimiento and in Itata. 'Pais Verde' comes from a sandy parcel of free-standing, own-rooted Pais vines up to 200-250 years old on the banks of the Bio Bio river.
