San Valentino is a modern estate in Emilia-Romagna's Rubicone zone run by Roberto Mascarin, who took over from his father Giovanni in 1997 and expanded and organically farms the property's 17 hillside hectares. Sangiovese and Rebola make up about 70% of the plantings, with Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot filling out the rest. This Rubicone IGT bottling blends Sangiovese with Merlot for a supple, contemporary style.
