Coppo has been rooted in Canelli since 1892, home to historic underground cellars recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Camp du Rouss, first produced in 1985, takes its name from the Piedmontese dialect for the red-haired man's field, a nod to the vineyard's original owner. The Barbera grows on calcareous clay-marl soils south of Asti at 650-820 feet, and the wine ages 12 months in French oak barriques.
