Profile & Story

Aphor takes its name from the myth of Aphrodite rising from the sea foam, an image carried onto the label of this Tenute Valso bottling from Alcamo in western Sicily. The wine is a pure expression of Grillo: gently pressed and fermented at low temperature entirely in steel, then aged on its fine lees with weekly stirring for four months before bottling to preserve its aromatic lift.

Pairing Recommendation

Pairs well with Sicilian seafood pasta, shrimp, sardines and fish couscous, fresh cheeses like Vastedda del Belice and ricotta, and fish tartare.
