Barbara Fores farms 28 hectares planted in 1981 on calcareous-clay soils in Terra Alta, Catalonia, using ecological/regenerative methods with manual harvest. Negre blends 70% Grenache with 30% Carignan, fermented spontaneously with each variety vinified separately, then aged 16 months in French oak; 15% ABV, 12,000 bottles produced. The winery is named for Barbara Fores (b. 1828), whose descendants have bottled wine on the estate since the late 19th century.
