Federico Paternina was founded in 1896 in Ollauri, Rioja Alta, with cellars dating to the 16th century, and was historically one of Rioja's largest and most influential bodegas; the brand is now part of Marqués de la Concordia Family Wines. Banda Azul is their flagship Crianza, a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha aged approximately 12 months in oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Bright ruby red with aromas of ripe red fruit, subtle oak and light spice; smooth, medium-bodied and approachable, with a soft, easy finish typical of a classic Rioja Crianza.
