Giocato Pinot Grigio 2024

Giocato is made by Aleks Simcic of the Edi Simcic estate, working with the organic co-op Vinska Klet (established 1957) in and around the village of Vipolze in Goriska Brda, Slovenia -- a lush, subalpine white-wine cru that belonged to Italy until the end of WWII and sits just meters from Collio in Friuli. Grapes are hand-picked from vines averaging 20-30 years old at around 100m elevation on ponca (carbonate-clay) soils; yields are very low, just under one bottle per vine. The Pinot Grigio is 100% varietal, unoaked, bottled after 2 months maturation. ABV 13.0%, RS 1 g/L, acidity 6.2 g/L.
