Profile & Story

Villa di Corlo is a family estate in Castelvetro di Modena, Emilia-Romagna, managing 25 hectares of vineyards (mostly Lambrusco Grasparossa) at over 300m elevation, alongside a traditional balsamic vinegar acetaia. Their focus is sparkling Lambrusco made from estate-grown Grasparossa, a thick-skinned, late-ripening Lambrusco subvariety native to Castelvetro. 'Corleto' is their dry (secco) Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOC bottling, vinified in steel with a lively frizzante sparkle.

Tasting Notes

Intense ruby-red color tending toward garnet with violet reflections; a distinctly vinous, fragrant bouquet of berries and violets; dry, full-bodied and slightly tannic on the palate with tangy sour cherry, blueberry and black raspberry flavors and a good, lively sparkle.

Pairing Recommendation

Cured meats (salumi) and traditional first courses such as tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce and lasagna; also wonderful with red meat.
