Profile & Story
Zeni 1870 is a family winery in Bardolino on Lake Garda, founded by Gaetano Zeni and now run by his descendants Fausto, Elena and Federica Zeni. The Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso 'Marogne' is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella from hillside vineyards in the Valpolicella Classico zone, made using the traditional ripasso technique (re-passing over Amarone pomace) and aged 10-12 months in oak followed by a period in steel.
Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red color; a rich, vinous bouquet of black cherry and ripe fruit. Full-bodied, velvety and rounded on the palate, with good persistence.
Pairing Recommendation
Recommended with grilled red meats, pasta with sauces, aged/fermented cheeses, and roasts.
