Avignonesi is a historic, biodynamically farmed estate in Montepulciano, Tuscany, founded in 1974 and long considered one of the region's benchmark producers. Da-Di (Chinese for 'earth') is their experimental red blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Mammolo, Alicante and Ciliegiolo, fermented and aged entirely in Tuscan terracotta amphorae rather than steel or oak, a deliberate nod to ancient Tuscan winemaking traditions. The approach is meant to let the estate's clay-rich terroir speak with minimal cellar intervention.
