Profile & Story

Beaux Freres was founded in 1986 by winemaker Michael Etzel and his brother-in-law, critic Robert Parker, on a former turkey farm in Oregon's Ribbon Ridge AVA, and was among the region's first fully organic and biodynamic estates. The Beaux Freres Vineyard bottling comes from the original home vineyard's iron-rich red Jory soil; for the 2022 vintage, winemaker Mikey Etzel raised new oak to 35 percent to match the vintage's ripe, polished tannins. It remains one of Oregon's most collected and age-worthy Pinot Noirs.

Tasting Notes

Dark florals and crushed stone frame dried black cherry and lavender, with a cascade of sweet spice and ripe red and blue fruit carried on vibrant acidity. Restaurant's Notes: cranberry, sandalwood, rose petal, and spiced tea with a long, polished finish.

Pairing Recommendation

Excellent alongside duck carnitas, mole negro, or a smoked lamb barbacoa.
