Profile & Story

Boars' View was established in 2007 when founder Fred Schrader and proprietors David and Judy Steiner acquired a wild, boar-roamed ridge two ridgelines in from the coast within the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown and vineyard manager Ulises Valdez, Sr. transformed the site into a world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyard, farming Calera, Mt. Eden, and Swan heritage clones. The 2018 Pinot Noir was aged 10 months in a mix of Francois Freres, Remond, and Gauthier French oak and earned 95 points from Jeb Dunnuck.

Tasting Notes

Deep and aromatic, with sweet black raspberry, baking spice, forest floor, and licorice over a full-bodied, well-integrated structure. Restaurant's Notes: A rich, extreme-coastal fort ross-seaview pinot noir from thomas rivers brown, with dark berry fruit and savory depth.

Pairing Recommendation

Ideal with braised short rib, duck, or a mushroom-forward mole.
