Château Lafleur-Gazin sits on the northern edge of the Pomerol plateau between Château Gazin and Château La Fleur-Pétrus, and has been farmed and vinified by the Moueix family's Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1976, with the family purchasing the estate outright from its longtime owner, Madame Delfour-Borderie, in 2021. Planted primarily to Merlot on gravel, clay, and silt soils, Lafleur-Gazin is known for a plump, supple, approachable style that offers a lighter, earlier-drinking expression of Pomerol.
Tasting Notes
Velvety and generous, with black plum and cocoa laced with truffle and gentle cedar spice. Restaurant's Notes: Ripe black plum, damson, cocoa, truffle, cedar; velvety texture with fine, silky tannins and a plush finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs nicely with mushroom-stuffed poblano or a braised beef mole.
