Profile & Story

Cristom Vineyards was founded in 1992 by Paul and Eileen Gerrie in Salem's Eola-Amity Hills and is now led by second-generation winegrower Tom Gerrie alongside winemaker Steve Doerner. Mt. Jefferson Cuvee is the winery's flagship blend, drawn predominantly from Cristom's five estate vineyards (Marjorie, Jessie, Louise, Eileen and Paul Gerrie) with select neighboring fruit, and is the first wine tasted and assembled each vintage. True to Cristom's house style, it is made with whole-cluster fermentation, native yeast and extended aging in French oak, and the estate is LIVE-certified sustainable.

Tasting Notes

Bright red and blue fruit mingle with cranberry sauce, pomegranate and warm cardamom over an earthy, forest-floor core with fine, sandy tannins. Restaurant's Notes: red cherry, pomegranate, warm baking spice, and forest floor with a smooth, earthy finish.

A versatile match for mole poblano, achiote-marinated chicken, or grilled carne asada.
