Profile & Story
Marjorie Vineyard is Cristom's original estate planting, put in the ground in 1982 and later renamed for founder Paul Gerrie's mother; the 1994 Marjorie was the winery's very first single-vineyard release. Sitting at roughly 550 feet on deep volcanic soils in the Eola Hills, the site is cooled by Pacific breezes that produce small, concentrated berries. The 2021 was fermented with 50% whole clusters using 100% native yeast and aged in 48% new French oak.
Tasting Notes
Dusty violets and dried black cherry lead to a luxuriously round palate of raspberry, candied rose petal and forest floor, closing on a long, spicy finish. Restaurant's Notes: red cherry, cranberry, rose petal, forest floor, black tea, subtle clove.
Pairing Recommendation
Well suited to birria tacos, roasted poblano dishes, or carne asada.
