Profile & Story
Château Montlandrie is a roughly 12-hectare estate on the limestone plateau of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, a continuation of the same limestone terrace found in neighboring Saint-Émilion. It was assembled between 2009 and 2011 by the late Denis Durantou, best known for his Pomerol icon Château L'Église-Clinet, who was drawn to the site's clay-limestone soils and south-facing slope. The blend leans on Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon; since Durantou's passing in 2020, the estate is run by his daughters Noémie and Constance.
Tasting Notes
Dark-fruited and polished, with a chalky, mineral edge that gives the wine real lift and freshness. Restaurant's Notes: Ripe plum, red cherry, graphite, cocoa, dried thyme; medium-plus body with lively acidity and fine, chalky tannins.
