Domaine Collotte Gevrey-Chambertin 'Seuvrées'

Domaine Collotte has grown grapes in Marsannay for four generations, but Philippe Collotte only began estate-bottling in 1981 at age 16; his daughter Isabelle joined in 2013 and the pair now farm about 17 hectares centered on Marsannay with additional parcels in Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny. Their Gevrey-Chambertin village wine is sourced from old vines (planted 1955) in the lieux-dits En Champs and Les Evocelles, just below the premier cru Champeaux vineyard, farmed with plowing instead of herbicides and fermented with only indigenous yeasts. Note: research did not turn up a Collotte bottling specifically labeled 'Seuvrées' -- their Gevrey-Chambertin offerings are the village blend (En Champs/Evocelles) and the single-vineyard 'Les Evocelles'; the village Gevrey-Chambertin is used here as the closest verified match.
