Profile & Story
Fortitude Cellars is a small, family-run project on proprietor Martin Hein's ranch in Arroyo Grande on California's Central Coast, farmed by a family that has worked the land for a century. Inspired by the great wines of Burgundy, Hein makes only a few hundred cases of Pinot Noir a year from this cool, coastal-fog-influenced pocket of the Central Coast. The wine is aged to show the site's savory, mineral-driven character rather than heavy oak or overt fruit.
Tasting Notes
Floral and savory, with red and black fruit, forest floor, and dried herbs framed by silky, firm tannins. Restaurant's Notes: A central coast pinot noir with bright cherry and raspberry fruit, a mineral edge, and a long, elegant finish.
